Babies though small, fragile and helpless, are not without ways of demonstrating emotions when experiencing the world around them. When wet, hungry, bored, happy, tired or excited, they have ways of making their emotions known.

When it comes to babies, nothing gets them more excited than getting a new play thing. These toys help them to explore a new world of sound, sight and feeling.

When babies grab a hold of a new toy, they gain the experience of feeling and textures. The softer the toy, the harder they can grab hold of. When it’s a rattle, they love to hear it jingle. They know that a shake of this object produces a certain sound. If is a mobile gym, they learn to move about with its aid, and seek it out when they need to get someplace. For a a play gym, they lie back and stare at the colors, out of curiosity, they reach out to touch, building curiosity.

Whatever the toy might be, some way or the other, they add educational values to out infants. They subtly teach the things they need to learn, which we are incapable of giving them no matter how much we love them.

Educational toys help children need to relax, have fun, be entertained and at the same time, teaching them much needed skills, knowledge and abilities.

There are various forms and sizes of early learning toys for children. You just have to pick the right ones for your child.

At about 2-3 months, toys with flashing lights, or activity quilts would do, once they are about 4-5 months, you can introduce long activity toys, and toys that come with a variety of sounds. From ages 6-7 months, crawlers and entertainment centers would be good for them. From 8-9 months, building toys will help build their reasoning abilities. From 10-12 months, long activity toys and outdoor toys would be great for them.
